DIET CHALLENGE: Shea Vaughn's 30-Day Breakthrough

Shea Vaughn helps WCL staffers Jakki Richardson, David Plummer and Marlaine Selip kick off their 2012 resolution of losing weight. They will be doing the "30 day Breakthrough" program under Shea's care. Here's where they start:

30-Day Breakthrough - Step 1 - Cleanse

Day 1 to 4

Breakfast:
Consume a ½ glass of warm water with one lemon squeezed into it, with 2 to 3 Organic Cayenne Pepper supplements (must say "COOL" on the label)

When hungry (Do not eat when you are not hungry) drink the Breakthrough Smoothie. You should drink as much as possible. You can drink up to 64 oz. which is a full pitcher, if using a Vitamix.

Take one probiotic supplement (Recommended: Primal Defense Ultra)

Lunch:
When hungry drink 24 oz of Acai Mixed Smoothie

Dinner:
When hungry drink 24 oz Breakthrough Smoothie

Take 4 to 5 Aerobic Mag07 supplements

You can drink herbal tea and hot water with lemon anytime during the day as desired

Days 5 to 12

Breakfast:

The Breakthrough Smoothie:
1 1/2 cups filtered water with 1 cup crushed ice

Juice and pith of 1 lemon (take peel off and throw out the peel)

4 stocks organic celery

1/2 head of a large bunch of spinach

1/2 head romaine lettuce, chopped

1/2 medium size organic cucumber

4 large stocks of organic kale

1 tablespoon organic wheatgrass powder

1 tablespoon organic Raw Cacao Powder

1/2 apple (cut in half do not core or throw anything away)

1/2 pear (cut in half do not core or throw anything away)

2 teaspoons organic blueberries

2 teaspoons raw organic honey

Optional  one small bunch Parsley and / or one small bunch cilantro

Acai Mixed Smoothie:
One Frozen Smoothie Pack of Sambazon Pure Unsweetened Acai (you can get it in the frozen department of Whole Foods - pick your flavor)

2 cups Unsweetened Almond or Coconut milk

1 organic mango / or one organic banana

1 large tablespoon of Almond butter or Sunflower Seed Butter

1/2 Avocado

1 tablespoon raw organic honey

1 teaspoon raw cacao Powder

Detox Smoothie:
1 1/2 cups filtered water part with 1/2 cup crushed ice

Juice and pitch of lemon (peel lemon and throw away the peel)

½ teaspoon Turmeric

3 tablespoons flax oil

1 cup organic berries  your choice of - strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries

1/2 organic apple

1 knob ginger

2 organic mint leaves

1 cup organic dandelion greens

4 large stocks organic kale

The Grapefruit Smoothie:
2 cups organic coconut water

2 organic grapefruits  juice and pitch of 2 grapefruits

1 cup cubed pineapple

1 kiwi

1 cup organic spinach

2 teaspoons organic flaxseed oil

Information:
It is important to "cleanse" i.e. eliminate as much as possible when going on a blended fast. Some additional type of elimination aid is extremely important, to maximize elimination beyond normal movements. Purchase Aerobic Life Mag07 supplements, and take 4-5 a night on days 1 through 8. This brings nascent oxygen into the body, and is not a laxative or habit-forming in any way.

A probiotic supplement is also highly recommended to take during the 30- Day Breakthrough, as it will increase good bacteria in the body to help destroy yeasts and microtoxins, which will simultaneously increase immunity. Take one in the morning.

Hot water should be consumed first thing in the morning with the cayenne pepper supplement, as well as throughout the day. Herbal tea can also be consumed in unlimited quantities.

Towards the beginning, some fat is important to keep in the diet for extra denseness and to help stave off hunger that may be present in the beginning, but will subside after 2 to 3 days. This is when we can add the Acai mixed smoothie in the plan.

The watermelon smoothie is extremely cleansing and contains B vitamins for extra energy, the power smoothie helps to kill the bad bacteria in the body and build the immune system.

IMPORTANT - When coming off the fast it is extremely important to not reverse much of the impact of the fast, by introduce fruits as the first solid food back into your system, preferably, grapefruit. Then you can have some pureed or clear soup broth, and later in the day a plain salad with steamed vegetables or fruit. We have to reintroduce foods slowly back into the system to "wake up" the digestive system. If we shock it we can hold onto more toxins.

It is important to stay 100% vegan as long as possible. Then introduce animal products slowly, one at a time. Try to avoid dairy for as long as possible, as a way of long term cleansing. Dairy is the most clogging, acid-forming food in the diet.
