Cynthia Rowley is an internationally known fashion designer with boutiques around the world and a slew of celebrity fans.

She grew up right in our backyard in Barrington, IL and graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Cynthia chatted with Val about her family, Chicago roots, successful career and plans for the future.

School of the Art Institute of Chicago "FASHION 2012" Show

The 78th annual fashion show at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), Fashion 2012, will bring more than 300 original garments to a tented venue in Millennium Park on Thursday, April 19. The show will be presented three times throughout the day before a final evening presentation during "THE WALK 2012", SAIC's annual benefit gala supporting student scholarships and student work. Cynthia Rowley and her husband Bill Powers will be honored with the "2012 Legend of Fashion Award" at the gala Thursday night.

Walk up tickets to the 12p.m. and 3p.m. shows in Millennium Park are available for $75 with payment by check or credit card.
