Commissioner of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events Michelle Boone touts the many great events still to come this summer in Chicago!

Millennium Park Music
This summer, Millennium Park will host more than 300 free concerts, events, exhibitions and open rehearsals. There is something happening in the park every single day of the week, and many genres of music are represented, including classical, world, rock, indie, jazz, and more.

Chicago SummerDance
The 15th annual Chicago SummerDance opens July 7 and runs through September 18. Admission is free. The series features free dance lessons and concerts in the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening, from 6 to 9:30 pm and on each Sunday afternoon from 4 to 7 pm, weather permitting. This summer, we're excited to be partnering with the Chicago Park District to bring the program to communities outside of the Loop, including Humboldt Park, Chinatown, and Jackson Park.

Neighborhood Events and Activities
There are lots of great events and activities happening throughout the city all summer long. They're the perfect way to discover new parts of our city. Upcoming highlights include The DuSable Museum's 37th Annual Arts and Crafts Festival, Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10; the Lincoln Park Arts and Music Festival on July 16 and 17; and Fiesta del Sol in the Pilsen neighborhood on July 28 - 31. http://www.dusablemuseum.org/events/details%20/dusable-museums-37th-annual-arts-crafts-festival

Air and Water Show
Chicago's Air and Water Show is the largest of its kind in the nation, with more than 2 million people attending each year. It's also the City's longest-running summertime tradition. This year's free show takes place on Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21 from 10am-3pm both days. The show can be seen along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street, with North Avenue Beach as the focal point.
