Billy's back with a fun list of events to kick off 2012 in Chicago. From free fitness week to a fun scavenger hunt at the Art Museum.
Free Fitness Week, Jan. 5-9 Daily, Various Locations, FREE
Details: You can visit one of 71 fitness centers in Chicago parks and use their equipment. For a small fee, you can take other classes too such as kickboxing, Pilates, yoga, aerobics, etc.
The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, Jan. 5-15 at 8pm, Stage 773, $14-$15
Details: The 11th annual festival features 129 groups performing 170 shows. There are four different stages that feature groups from Chicago and from all over the world.
Second City's History of Chicago, Various dates and times, 1616 N. Wells Street, $35
Details: Get a different type of history lesson on the Windy City! Second City performs comedy that takes a look at Chicago and the characters that fill our history.
Elvis fest, Jan. 8 at 7pm, The Original Mother's, $5 suggested donation
Details: Celebrate what would have been Elvis' 74th birthday! Listen to performances by Elvis impersonators and participate in a look-alike contest. WZZN-FM 94.7's Dick Biondi will be broadcasting live from the party.
'Murder at the Art Museum' Scavenger Hunt, Jan. 7 at 2pm, Art Institute of Chicago, $36
Details: Get into teams and observe works of art for hidden clues to solve a murder mystery. Each member of the winning team receives a prize!
Shelter Shiver, Jan. 8 at 11am, North Avenue Beach, $25
Details: Help raise money with Chicago animal lovers by taking a dip in Lake Michigan! You can participate by a Shiver Swim (full plunge), Chicken Dip (ankle deep stroll), or a I'll Meet You at the Meltdown (virtual participant). You will get a gift bag and there will be an after party at the Old Town Ale House.
Charles James: Genius Deconstructed, Jan. 5-Apr. at 9:30 (Mon-Sat) & 12pm (Sun), Chicago History Museum, $12-$14
Details: Chicago native, Charles James, was a top designer who brought great architecture and craftsmanship to his garments. Check out the exhibit featuring over a dozen classic designs and images.
Chicago Winter Delights Festival, Jan. 5-Feb. 26, Navy Pier, FREE
Details: Two month long festival celebrating Chicago's coldest months. Navy Pier warms up with musical acts, performances, food exhibits from around the world, arts and crafts and many more exciting activities you can enjoy with the whole family.

Details: Check out the comedy of this local comic and winner of HBO's "Lucky 21 Stand Up Contest" & regional winner of Comedy Central's "open Mic Fight".
Wicker Park/Bucktown First Friday, Jan. 6 at 6pm, Flat Iron Arts Building, $5 suggested donation
Details: Take a look at two floors of art in artist studios and living spaces. There are guest artist exhibits and impromptu performances take place throughout the night.
El Circo Cheapo Cabaret, Jan. 7 at 7pm, The Aloft Loft, $10-$15
Details: Check out performances by local aerialists, jugglers, and other circus performers.
